This sparkling five-stone engagement ring comprises five antique old round-cut bright white diamonds from the early 1900s between 1900-1930s - a total of approximately 1.85carats. A timeless syle, this ring is just waiting to be paired with a beautiful modern textured band or worn alone in all its glory. Each old cut diamond is set in a claw setting, with graduated transition cut diamonds in a lovely curve that frames the finger. The diamonds have previously been remodelled and reset into this 18ct yellow gold ring shank.
Some technical extras:
These diamonds are 'transitional-cut' stones which mark the transition of time where old cut diamonds were still the standard diamond cut before it transitioned to what we now know as the modern round brilliant cut. During this time, diamond cutters were honing the proportions of the diamond, as well as the size and position of facets to best optimise its brilliance and fire; and these stones are the final steps before reaching that ‘perfect’ cut which we now think of as the round brilliant.
How we would wear it:
This dazzling ring styles beautifully with other antique or contemporary stacking bands, and would also make a stunning engagement ring!
